Almost go-time


It’s hard to believe that the marathon is just over four months away!
I’ve spent the past month or so slowly getting back into training after a relatively stagnant hiatus. It was nice to have some down time but it is also really hard getting back into a routine! I am starting to stress a bit about the idea of simultaneously training for a half ironman AND a marathon but everyone else seems pretty confident in my abilities. My main goal is to stay healthy and try and remain relatively injury-free. Easier said than done I guess!

Last weekend was great. I rode about 35 miles on the new bike (see below) on Saturday and then ran about nine miles in Rock Creek Park on Sunday. This week even marked my return to the pool yesterday morning with a 1000 m swim! Not too bad I guess. The after-effects were the hardest part as I found myself trying to eat for an army all day! Need to slowly work myself back into good eating habits as well. All in good time.

This weekend should be nice and relaxing! I’m heading back up to New Jersey for some quality time with the family. I’m bringing the bike up and hope to get in a ride with my dad at some point, probably a run as well. Marathon training kicks off on June 9th!
