Nine miles down, many to go!

Ever since returning from New Hampshire I have made a conscious effort to start really following my training schedule. You would think that with swimming and biking out of the picture I would have lots of free time to run, run, run.

As always, life gets in the way. But it's ok! I will never be one of THOSE people who obsesses about getting every mile in, accounting for every new fastest mile or split. I am simply content with fitting my runs into my busy life and getting on with it.

Last Sunday I was supposed to run 14 and did. Accomplishment! I have been blessed with many supportive friends who are going above and beyond their friend duties to help. I ran with TE/LE from their new neighborhood this time around. TE went with my first and we did about nine miles through Columbia Heights/Rock Creek Park/Dupont/Shaw. I started to get a nasty blister around mile 6 and was able to patch it up before heading out for 5 more with LE. It was tough but I made it through and then rewarded myself with goodies from the Bloomingdale Farmers Market afterwards.

This week's schedule:
4 miles on Tuesday (Check!)
9 miles on Wednesday (check! Did it this morning!)
5 miles Thursday.

Pretty good, eh?
